Integrated Waste Management System (IWMS)

Combustion with energy recovery (Waste to Energy technology), despite being one of the best ways to eliminate what is not otherwise usable, CANNOT be profitably applied to the entire mass of waste.

A pre-selection of the input waste is always preferred, in order to separate those materials which can be raw reused without the need of a WTE heat treatment.

The best solution, in the case of municipal solid waste, is the separation of the materials at the source, then directly in separate dumpsters or containers in the individual households.

The individual citizen separates at the source materials of which is affordable recycling (glass, paper, metal cans, plastics and so on) and other hazardous materials that should not for any reason be released to the environment; the collection of these materials is carried out separately from waste destined to the WTE plant. Finally these materials are sent to specific plants for their conversion into raw materials or for proper disposal.

CGE Engineering is able to provide, thanks to its experience, an integrated waste management and treatment system, in accordance with the latest European standards (Directive 2008/98/EC).
